This policy explains how The Birth Letter, operated by MB “Violetinis rytas“, Lithuania (company code 307055066), handles consumer health data. It applies to residents of Washington State and Nevada, and we follow it for everyone. Our full Privacy Policy explains everything else.
What consumer health data we collect
Some of our products ask about your inner life. The answers can say something about your physical or mental health, so we treat them as consumer health data:
how your nights go, what you have been through, and anything you write or say in your own words.
- In The Night Letter test: your answers about where in your body you feel stress or pain, which feelings are hardest for you,
that the text should be gentler).

Why we collect it and how we use it
Only to make and deliver the product you asked for: your Night Letter recording or your letter. We also check what you write for signs that you may be in danger right now, so that we can show you where to get help. We never use consumer health data for advertising, never sell it, and never use it to train any model.
Where it comes from
Directly from you, in the questions you answer and what you write or say. Nothing comes from other companies.
Who receives it
We do not share consumer health data with third parties or affiliates. It is processed for us, under contract and only to make your product, by: Anthropic (writing the text), Alibaba Cloud (the narrator’s voice), OpenAI (turning your spoken answers into text and checking the narration), our hosting provider and our email provider (delivering your recording). If we ever wanted to share consumer health data for any other reason, we would first ask for your separate consent.
Your rights
You can:
- confirm whether we collect, share or sell your consumer health data, and see it;
- get a list of everyone who has received it;
- withdraw your consent;
- have it deleted – from our systems, and from our processors’. Copies in backups are deleted within six months.
Email help@thebirthletter.com with the subject “Health data request” from the email address you used with us. We will confirm your identity by replying to that address, answer within 45 days, and never treat you differently for using your rights. If we decline your request, you can appeal by replying to our answer with “Appeal“; we will answer the appeal within 45 days. If you are not satisfied, you can contact the Washington State Attorney General (atg.wa.gov) or, in Nevada, the Nevada Attorney General (ag.nv.gov).
Your consent
We ask for your consent before you answer any question that may reveal consumer health data, in a separate checkbox. You can withdraw it at any time; we then delete your answers and stop making any recording that has not been delivered yet.
