What this time is asking, now that there’s room to hear it
“What is this time of my life asking of me?” It’s a question people rarely ask out loud, and you asked it plainly. That says something already. You aren’t looking for a new project to fill the days. You’re listening.
For most of your life, the asking came from outside. Someone needed dinner, a ride, a call, a decision, an answer. You gave it, and you were good at giving it. With the Moon in Cancer, caring for others has been close to the center of who you are, and you often knew what someone needed before they did. Now the outside asks less, and the quiet that’s left can feel strange. Sometimes even a little like being set aside.
The Sun in Scorpio, the day you were born, gave you depth. You don’t skim the surface of things, and you never have. You’ve felt losses all the way through, and you’ve kept a lot of what you felt to yourself. Some of it is still there, waiting, because there was never quite time.
Your mind may say: “I should be useful. I should be doing something with these years.” That voice has been with you a long time. It kept you going when you needed it. But it may not be the voice this time is asking you to hear.
Could it be that this time is asking you, maybe for the first time, to turn toward yourself with the same care you gave everyone else? Not to do more. To feel what you’ve carried, and to let yourself be the one who is tended to.
If you want, sit somewhere quiet, close your eyes, and let your hands rest palms down in your lap. Let your body be open. Feel your chest from the inside, simply with attention, and notice what is there. Tenderness, maybe. An old ache. Something you can’t name yet. You don’t have to do anything with it. If you want to stop, you stop.
Nothing in you needs to catch up. You’ve lived a long, full life, and you’re still listening to it. That’s already an answer of a kind.
